Richard Grenell, the former US special envoy for Serbia and Kosovo negotiations during the Trump Administration, has recently visited Albania. The news was confirmed by the former US envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue himself on social networks.
Grenell, who was also Ambassador to Pristina, has published a photo on social networks, where it is seen that he met with the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama.
“Stories on events during a lunch this Sunday with the Albanian friend and prime minister, Edi Rama in the torching Tirana,” Grenell wrote on his Instagram account.
Before visiting Albania, Grenell was in Belgrade, where he posted a photo with the Minister of Economy of Serbia, Sinisa Mali.
Besides Rama, the former US envoy was received on Monday by president Ilir Meta who said in a statement on social media that he supports “his (Grenell) ongoing efforts to promote US investment and economic cooperation in the region as the only way to guarantee well-being for all our citizens and especially the younger generation.”
Meta said that he also donated the book “Albania from the Air” to Grenell and wished him that “next time he will spend more time exploring our beautiful Albania”.
The official agenda of the talks of the ex- US envoy has not been made official, and the only aspect of them seems to be economy. Meta mentioned his ‘ongoing efforts to promote US investments’ in the announcement of the meeting. / /argumentum.al
