The President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen will visit Tirana on Tuesday arriving at the capital in the morning, government sources said on Monday. According to the official agenda made public it is said that the official reception ceremony will be organized at the Palace of Brigades at 8.45 am, which will be followed by the meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama, who was on a two-day visit to Pristina where he was very critical towards the EU for the failure to open the accession talks with Albania and to approve the visa liberalization for Kosovo as promised.
Ms. Von der Leyen is scheduled to have a meeting with President Ilir Meta at the presidential premises at 10 am. After being accompanied by Rama she will visit the school “Korab Muca” in Qereke of Kruja, which was rebuilt thanks to an EU program for schools damaged because of the earthquake of November 26, 2019.
After the visit Prime Minister Rama and top Commissioner Ursula Von Der Leyen will give a joint news conference which will mark the end of the visit. / Argumentum.al
