“UNMIK is a waste of U.S. tax dollars and should be drastically reformed or ended,” has said Richard Grenell, former US envoy for the Kosovo- Serbia dialogue during the Trump administration.
Against this background he has asked the reformation or the end of this mission.
“UNMIK Kosovo leader blames poor communication, the EU, von Der Leyen, and NATO for the recent violence. But he is the one who is ineffective and slow,” said Grenell on Twitter on Saturday .
But this is not only the attitude of the former American official.
The same view was expressed by the US representative to the United Nations Security Council.
“UNMIK has fulfilled its mandate and we must understand this reality and move towards its closure,” said the US representative.
