Albanian Speaker willing to strengthen ties between Albanian Parliament and German Bundestag

“I want to express my will and commitment to strengthen the ties between the Albanian Parliament and the German Bundestag given the role of parliaments and parliamentarians as representatives of citizens and their aspirations,” said Albanian Speaker Lindita Nikolla.
Speaker Nikolla made that comment in a congratulatory letter to the President of the German Bundestag, Bärbel Bas, on the occasion of her election, which was released by parliament’s press office on Sunday.
“On behalf of the Assembly of Albania and on my own behalf, I convey to you the most sincere congratulations on the occasion of your election as President of the Bundestag and I wish you many successes in your high and noble office. I take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude and the highest appreciation for the continued support of the Bundestag and the Federal Government in Albania’s journey towards the European perspective and EU membership,” she said in the letter.
Nikolla estimated that Germany is the political and economic locomotive of Europe and this support is of great importance in the framework of the European Union.
“Parliaments can contribute not only to strengthening bilateral cooperation, but also to achieving common global goals, peace, health and well-being,” said Speaker Nikolla. /argumentum.al
