Prime Minister Edi Rama has declared that a zero profit tax regime will continue to be maintained for all small businesses in Albania. Rama made that announcement as he presented the fiscal package for small business on Monday evening.
On the other hand, he said that those businesses will not be taxed up to 100 million ALL turnover. Rama stressed that small businesses were 60,000 and were taxed 10 percent, while today small businesses are 110,000 and are taxed zero. Rama stressed that although there were 60,000 small businesses during the period 2006-2013 they paid 19 billion ALL in taxes, while from 2014 to 2021 being 110,000, they have paid only 5.7 billion in taxes, that is three times less.
“I want to bring some figures, which is very meaningful to have a view of the situation where we are starting from where we undertook this effort at the beginning of the time. There were 60,000 businesses and they were taxed 10 percent, today small businesses are 110,000 and are taxed zero,” he said.
According to him, the above figures are also valid to tell all those who talk about closures, bankruptcies, destructions, and in the first place those who fall prey to this propaganda. AS far as small businesses are concerned they are the most supported by his government. / Argumentum.al
