“We have no reason to believe that we are dealing with a terrorist act or an attack on the bus as a whole,” said Veton Elshani, deputy police commander in the Peja region in Kosovo after a bus driver and two students died in the Kosovo municipality of Decan after an unknown attacker shot at their bus on Friday evening.
The bus traveling with students was targeted around 7 p.m. on Friday evening and it was traveling from Decan to the village of Gllogjan.
The news was also confirmed by the Prosecutor’s Office in Peja.
Elshani was quoted as saying that there is no reason to believe that the shootings in Decan, which took the lives of three people, are related to any terrorist act. According to him, it is more likely that the target was someone who was at the scene at that moment. From Peja Hospital he confirmed that three people died as a result of the shootings that occurred around 19:00. Of the three dead, two are students, while the third is the bus driver. The driver died at the scene, while the two students later, as they could not survive the injuries. A fourth person is being treated at this hospital. He is out of danger for life.
“Serious crime units are at the scene. All tracks are being investigated. We are all at the scene,” said Elshani. / argumentum.al
