Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu told the media on Saturday that a fire broke out in one of the administration offices, which has nothing to do with the 3 wards of the COVID hospital in Tirana. According to her, no patient, medical staff, or administration staff has suffered injuries, underlining the fact that the situation is under control and that patients will not be transferred.
“There are three wards that provide services to patients with COVID. I want to make sure they are all healthy. The incident occurred not in the ward areas. As can be seen, it is an incident that happened in the green area, where the support services are provided. It is not related to the 3 pavilions,” said the minister.
According to her, as soon as the fire was identified by the supporting structures it reacted to put out the flames. “The responsible structures have been notified which are investigating the cause of the incident. What is important is that the patients, the medical staff are very good. There is nothing to worry about,” she said.
“The incident occurred in this area of the former Surgery structure, where no service is provided. There are over 70 patients in COVID 3. None of the 3 wards were affected by this incident. The situation is under control. There are several tracks being investigated. All tracks are being evaluated,” said Manastirliu. / Argumentum.al
