Albania and Israel will sign a new cooperation agreement in the field of Defense, said an announcement issued by the Ministry of Defense Niko Peleshi, who is on a visit to Israel, where he was received by the Minister of Defense Benjamin Gantz.
According to the announcement, Peleshi and Gantz discussed strengthening relations between the two countries in the field of security.
Minister Peleshi gave a general description of the goals that Albania has to build and bring to a competitive level the capacities in the field of technological innovation, following the model of Israel, as one of the five leading countries in the world in this respect.
During the meeting, he expressed his appreciation for Israel as a very important NATO partner in the Middle East and Northern Africa, as well as for the constructive policy pursued at the Mediterranean Dialogue Forum.
The Albanian Minister, Peleshi thanked his counterpart Gantz for the historic decision to recognize the independence of Kosovo by the state of Israel, which was followed by the establishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of relevant embassies. / Argumentum.al
