This has been a cursed year for Albanians during which one of the biggest scandals broke up that has to do with incinerators, has said the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha in the last press conference for 2021 held on Thursday. “The wage scandal confirms that the highest paid are those who have benefited from concessions, not the people who produce or provide services, or export Albanian products, but who are paid by the poorest taxpayers for a corrupt affair,” Basha said.
The DP head listed three ways to clean up politics: deep electoral reform, including the Constitution; justice to move forward and vetting in politics.
“Purification of politics passes through 3 ways, and the first is fair elections. The patronagists, a confirmation of the party-state, was proved by the incinerators affair. Liberation of elections from multiple sieges can not be done only with a few corrective steps but with the law of electoral reform,” he said.
According to him, the second way is that justice should move forward and the first steps are encouraging.
“Albanians deserve more and faster, transparency within the conditions of investigative secrecy and the third step is the vetting of politicians. Our initiative is not lip service.. Together with the anti-mafia law, they are the only way to liberate Albania,” Basha declared./ Argumentum.al
