The government run by Socialist PM Edi Rama continues to pay millions of lek to the company “Integrated Technology Service” run by Klodian Zoto seized by the special authority to investigate serious crimes in Albania, SPAK, according to reports revealed by ‘unnamed’ prosecutors.
Although he is on the run being wanted under the accusation of corruption and money laundering, Zoto received from the Ministry of Infrastructure 150 million ALL on Thursday.
According to the data of the State Treasury, the payment was made within the services that the main company of Zoto is providing for the construction of the Sherishta landfill, in the southern city of Vlora.
In June 2020, the company “Integrated Technology Service”, together with an Italian company, were announced the winners of a tender conducted in complete darkness for the construction of a landfill in the southern coastal city. Funds for the construction of this landfill, worth about 10 million euros, were provided by the Albanian government through a loan from the German bank, KFV.
The tender was held by the National Waste Agency, which at the time of the proceedings was headed by Alqi Bllako, who is now a Socialist Party MP and described as one of the key figures in the incinerators affair. / Argumentum.al
