Democrat MP Dashnor Sula on Thursday called the Socialist Party (SP) government as champion and winner of the gold medal for the high level of debt it has received over the years. Giving some figures he said that from September to December alone the government borrowed 1 billion euros. While the public debt for every citizen is now 5 million ALL.
MP Sula made these revelations in a statement during the plenary session of the Parliament on Thursday.
“I asked the Minister of Finance what the number of loan agreements is. The answer was 252 agreements. How many debt agreements have been entered into force from 2013 to date? 58 agreements. What is the value of the debt? 5.4 billion euros. In what year is Albania expected to repay all obligations? The answer is 2053, but may go as far as 2075 with other agreements that have been signed. So we will not be alive, but our grandchildren’s children will be in debt. How much is the monetary obligation that every citizen has as a result of these agreements? 5 million ALL. Imagine a family in rural areas with 6 members? They start the day with 30 million ALL. “This government deserves the gold medal for the debt,” said Sula.
Further on he said that when he came to Parliament in the morning he saw a line of police vans and he took a picture thinking that the time had come to arrest any minister, former minister or any corrupt MP. But, according to him, the police had come because the ‘May 5 gang’ had come here to protest against the demolition of their apartments.
“There are very honorable people from both sides of the left and the right. There are also ministers with integrity and I do not want to make a diversion, but there are people here who have made fabulous wealth with state salaries. The only way out for this country is not to vote. Rama knows all the ways to win the elections. The only way to save this country is to bring to justice the abusive ministers and officials. This will be our salvation.” / Argumentum.al
