President Ilir Meta has asked the Constitution Court to provide him evidence on the way how the rapporteur to consider the case of his dismissal, a decision made by the Parliament last year, has been appointed.
Such a request was made public in a letter sent to the Court and made available to the media on Sunday.
Among others Meta wants to know why the legal three-month deadline for the consideration of the case has been overcome.
In addition the letter said that the head of state expected that the Constitutional Court would make a quick decision on the case.
The following are the main demands presented by Meta in his letter: “Make available to me the evidence how the rapporteur for the “dismissal case” was appointed; Make available to me the act of suspension of the case and what is the legal basis you used; Why was the 3-month legal deadline for reviewing the case violated?; and I expected quick decision-making on the issue.”
Further on he said that based on the position of the letter of the Constitutional Court, he was obliged to forward his request in order for the Constitutional Court not only to take measures to guarantee the rights of the parties in the process, but also to ensure transparency over its activity, as an indicator of legitimacy of this Court. / Argumentum.al
