The ‘House of Freedom’ coalition consisting of the Democratic Party (DP), represented by the Re-establishment Commission, the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) and the Christian Democratic Party (CDP), has applied for registration with the Central Election Commission.
The request was submitted by the SMI with its representative, the Secretary General, Endrit Brahimllari on Tuesday.
“The ‘House of Freedom’ coalition presented the logo and initial letters that will be presented on the ballot papers in the 6 municipalities where the local by-elections will take place,” said the SMI representative.
The deadline to present a candidate is February 6.
Earlier the SMI Chairman, Monika Kryemadhi accused the DP Head, Lulzim Basha of selling the SMI mandates to the Socialist Party (SP) on April 25.
“Definitely an enemy ally; just look at the minutes of the Democratic Party counting groups on April 25. Elona Guri’s mandate was revoked, and it was granted to Edi Rama. This is enough to understand how the mandates were taken away from the SMI and sold to the Socialist Party. The SMI does not intend to fight for the past but to learn from the past,” said Kryemadhi.
“I hope he will participate in the March 6 election, but do not be surprised when he says that I will not be part of the ‘Bermuda Triangle’ and I will not participate in the March 6 election, because I have the impression that the results will be completely different,” she said, adding that Basha did not let the opposition participate in the June 30 elections. / Argumentum.al
