The letter of the Russian Embassy sent some days ago to the Albanian government aroused on Thursday debates in the Parliament, where former Prime Minister Sali Berisha accused the head of government Edi Rama that he keeps silent over such a threat. Berisha demanded that the Parliament urgently adopt a resolution which would support Ukraine.
Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has accused the head of the government Edi Rama that he says no word about the letter that the Kremlin sent to the Albanian Government regarding the developments in Ukraine. From the rostrum of the Parliament, the veteran leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha denounced the fact that this action of Russia is a blackmail that is being done to the Albanian citizens.
Former Prime Minister Berisha demanded that the Albanian Parliament adopt a resolution in support of Ukraine.
It is not the first statement of Berisha in support of Ukraine as in a speech held in plenary session on January 27 he expressed kombit ukrainas solidaritetin e tij të plotë në emër të DP.
“I am here to raise my voice to help Ukraine, which is threatened by a Kremlin barbarian. Albania must do everything to help this country. At least bullets and ammunition can be sent to them, but Belgrade’s money is not in vain. You MPs should raise your voice because you represent the DP, not Lul Brava (Basha),” said Berisha.
Prime Minister Edi Rama commented on Berisha’s speech on a local TV on the same day warning: “I heard some foolish talk about Ukraine, but you will hear something that would be incredible for Albania’s role in foreign policy in the coming days.”
There has been no news of such a sensitivity as yet declared by the PM or his ministers.
Regarding the agreement with Greece for the establishment and functioning of a joint police and customs center, Berisha described the agreements of the Rama government as false in Thursday’s plenary session. / Argumentum.al
