“What has happened in these 8 years of Edi Rama’s rule is the gradual killing of hope,” said Democratic Party (DP) Chairman Lulzim Basha in a meeting with his party structures in Unit 6 in Tirana on Monday.
“This is the biggest crime of his clique; this is the biggest crime against Albanians, their families and children. Killing hope is not a metaphor. It is the feeling that burdens most Albanians for the daily bread, for the fate of the children, for their tomorrow, for the security of the workplace for those who have a job and for those who grow old prematurely in search of a job that does not find it. For insufficient income to provide the daily bread, not with a normal dignified living,” said Basha who also denounced the poor health and education services offered by the state although he collects taxes from Albanians. In addition he said that Rama has also increased taxes, while pensions have not increased even as much as inflation last year.
Basha stressed that there are no two Democratic Parties of Albania. “There are not two, there is only one Democratic Party of Albania. It is the Democratic Party that did not stop denouncing the affair of Saimir Tahiri as Minister of Interior from the first day,” he said.
Basha stressed that because of being declared “non grata” by the US State Department, the former chairman of this party, Sali Berisha has undertaken a frontal attack on the Democrats who do not think like him. “He thinks the Democrats and the Democratic Party should not exist if they do not support him. They do not protect him; they do not turn the party into his shelter. Against whom? Against the US which has declared him “non grata”. And now, he has got the logo of the Socialist Movement for Integration, took it to the CEC, and he is wandering in the 6 municipalities under the SMI logo,” said Basha. / Argumentum.al
