Prime Minister Edi Rama has posted pictures of new buildings in Golem, built as part of the reconstruction as a result of the destruction caused by the November 2019 earthquake on his Facebook status.
The head of government wrote on Friday that the works are nearing completion and 45 families affected by the earthquake will be sheltered in these buildings.
However, he replied to comments of one of his followers, who expressed concern about rising prices in the country. “Oh, look at the prices and leave constructions, because you are drowning us with the price of oil that has increased to 200 lek. We do not all work like you governors. We have bills that we pay with salaries, do you know how much the salary is?” wrote the citizen.
In response, Rama said he is aware of the price increase, but this is not in the hands of the government. The Prime Minister said that the government is controlling the price of energy for light, which, according to him, has not increased in Albania unlike in the region.
Rama said that he, of course, sees the prices but the prices in the market are raised and reduced by the market, not the government, while precisely because he knows well what the salary is, the energy price is kept where it was, subsidizing it from the state coffers, while that price has rocketed everywhere in the region and beyond.
“But I do not leave the constructions in any way, because there are still families who want to return home after the destruction by the earthquake,” replied Prime Minister Rama. / Argumentum.al
