President Ilir Meta has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of inciting conflicts in the April 25 parliamentary elections and reiterated that his task is to protect the Constitution.
In an interview with Apollonian TV on Saturday the president said that what he called the ‘fascist regime’ was in search of bloodshed and tensions on April 25, but it was he who did everything to stop it.
“My task is to defend the Constitution, political pluralism and the constitutional order in the most difficult situations. The source of tensions before April 25 was Edi Rama,” said Meta who recalled the murder in Elbasan, the wounding in Kavaja and other incidents provoked by him.
“The fascist regime wanted bloodshed and tensions on April 25. I did everything I could to stop it in defense of the vote, to counter the intimidation of Albanian citizens by the Government and the organized gangs of the ruling party,” said the President. / Argumentum.al
