President Ilir Meta was in Durrës where he commented on the statement of the American ambassador, Yuri Kim, who through a status on social networks, addressed the candidates running in this election who are led by persons considered by the US as involved in corruption, what they promise voters.
“I am convinced that the citizens of Durres, but not only of this municipality, will choose with free will the candidates with more integrity who guarantee the greatest commitment to the community,” said Meta on Wednesday.
“The head of state said that it is up to the citizens to decide on their future, we must seek to confront programs and ideas and win.” said Meta.
The US Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim, addressed some questions to the mayoral candidates for the March 6 local by – elections one of which was: “If your main supporter is someone publicly designated by the United States for major corruption, what exactly are you promising voters? Who will own you if you win, and what will you owe them? What should Albanians expect? “What should the United States expect?”
This statement which targets the veteran leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has also been criticized by many other politicians and analysts who consider it as the climax of interference of a foreign diplomat in the internal affairs of another country. / Argumentum.al
