Croatian President Zoran Milanovic has said that the sanctions against Russia were the strongest so far, but, according to him, they could not stop Russia. The president said the war is a crisis worse than a pandemic.
“It’s a war that is not on our borders, but it is close to our borders. We cannot but condemn the aggression against Ukraine,” Milanovic said as quoted by Kallxo on Friday.
As for Serbia’s attitudes, President Milanovic said that Belgrade is playing a game, but they are weak. “Serbia does not know what to say and that’s why the president is tactical when the head of the NATO delegation says that Russia should be punished. Belgrade is playing the game, but they are so weak and this is their position at the moment. How will they attack Kosovo with water pistols? Such things create unnecessary tension,” Milanovic said.
The Croatian president added that Serbia now has the time to show if it wants to join the EU. “Now the time may be to decide whether they want to join the EU, but the burden of Kosovo and other things have put Vucic in a position where he can no longer be expressed pragmatically. If Donbas is to be recognized, then the recognition of Kosovo, which has been done by almost all EU countries, must be reasoned,” said the president of Croatia. / Argumentum.al
