It has been expected that Vucic would choose Putin instead of the West regarding the aggression against Ukraine.
Serbia is part of the Eurasian Union and stands as a heavily armed Russian instrument in the region. It does not want to and can not do otherwise as this is obvious; it has already chosen its destiny at least for a decade.
But the question must be and is: how long will Albania continue to jeopardize its Western position by following Serbia in the Vucic’s initiative of the “Open Balkans”, or rather the “New Yugoslavia” ?? !!
So far Rama has taken Albanians far dragged by Vucic as part of his anti-EU project:
– In terms of the division of the Region, the tragic deterioration of Albania-Kosovo relations, which only interests Serbia. The time is that we must be more united than ever, the Region in general but especially Albanians.
-In the economic damage of our country with those decisions, which only sanction the Serbian economic hegemony in the Region, in addition to the political one.
-Losing confidence in the consistency and orientation of our country, creating confusion among our Western partners. -In reality, through the political adventures of the Renaissance in recent years, the multi-dimensional hegemony of Serbia in the region has been accepted and supported.
So Albania is placed at a historic and dangerous crossroads. However, there comes a moment in politics precisely when you are at a crossroad that you have to make fundamental decisions to find the right direction.
And we are now at that very moment. Albanians must clearly position themselves for what they feel and aspire to – in the non-negotiable determination for their only path, that towards the West, and follow that path, just that one.
Albania should distance itself from the vucician direction and Serbia’s route to Moscow. And this must start first by final separation from the “Open Balkans” project, connecting only with the Brussels’ projects. If the right decisions are made in difficult times, Albanians will have good days tomorrow. Otherwise…! /argumentum.al
