Kosovo has celebrated the 24th anniversary of the Epic of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). A military parade took place in the country’s capital Pristina and other state ceremonies were held at memorial sites on Saturday.
The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani stated in her keynote address held on Saturday during the ceremonies that “in the memory of nations there are several events, which are engraved in the common calendar and are stored as a precious stone in the memory of each member of the nation.”
Osmani said that the heroic deed of the legendary commander of KLA, Adem Jashari and the sublime sacrifice of the Jashari family for freedom is the event that sealed Kosovar history, which will be forever preserved in the memory of the Albanian nation.
“Therefore today, in the barracks of our army that bears the name of the legendary commander, we reiterated that the foundations of the state have been laid and are being maintained thanks to this bravery and this sacrifice,” the Kosovo President said. /Argumentum.al
