The sixth protest in Tirana on Monday followed the same course as in the previous fifth events but ended with a warning to Premier Edi Rama.
The protesters called on the citizens to unite in large numbers in this manifestation of theirs. They demanded that the citizens reunite at 17:00 in front of the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday and other week days, while a nationwide march will take place in Tirana at 11.00 on Saturday like last Saturday.
Citizens unveiled three demands for Prime Minister Edi Rama in the sixth protest. The first was to remove the sales tax on oil, the second to temporarily suspend the excise tax on hydrocarbons and the third to revise the subsistence living minimum. Protesters said that the deadline for implementing these demands is March 18, while adding that otherwise, they will demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
It’s not clear how they will press PM who ridiculed the protest saying he will not remove the fuel tax even if the protest goes on until 2025 to step down. /Argumentum.al
