Recent rainfalls have improved the water situation in Albania’s hydropower plants on the Drini cascade where the level had dropped to the critical point and the country was in danger of power outages. But Minister of Energy Belinda Balluku said that the situation has normalized. Speaking to the Energy Committee on Tuesday, Balluku said there was no room for panic. Among other things, she reiterated that there will be no increase in the price of energy for households and small business.
“I emphasize that none of us should be influenced by opinions. We have managed the cascade properly. It was said that it was not managed because old Kukes is coming out, but this did not happen. The cascade was well managed and we did not have power outages,” she said.
According to her, the state budget is burdened by a very large amount of money due to the resistance package.
“Cascade management is shown by the uninterrupted energy supply and we will continue to protect citizees without changing the prprice. We will be ready to protect even small business,” Balluku said. /Argumentum.al
