TIRANA, April 15 – The US Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim has said as justice reform is beginning to produce more and more results, opponents are increasing efforts to undermine key elements, including vetting.
Kim made that comment in a note released on Twitter on Friday.
“Your actions are not as hidden as you think,” Washington’s top diplomat in Tirana said in her warning against what she called the opponents of justice reform.
The Ambassador pledged that the United States will continue to strongly support implementation of justice reform in Albania.
Below is the full statement of Ambassador Kim:
“As justice reform is beginning to produce more and more results, opponents are increasing efforts to undermine key elements, including vetting. Those engaging in threats, intimidation, slander, corrupt inducements should stop. Your actions are not as hidden as you think.
President Biden made clear in the National Security Study Memorandum of June 3, 2021 that the fight against corruption is a core national security interest of
the United States. The US will continue to strongly support implementation of justice reform in Albania.” /Argumentum.al
