TIRANA, June 19 – Albania and Poland have signed a new agreement to increase cooperation in the field of defense after a long period of negotiations.
The agreement was signed in Brussels by Defense Minister Niko Peleshi and his Polish counterpart Mariusz Błaszczak as part of a meeting of North Atlantic defense ministers held at NATO headquarters on June 17.
Peleshi said in a note on social networks released on Sunday that during this meeting the situation created by the Russian aggression in Ukraine was also discussed. The two ministers also spoke about international efforts to end this war.
“I had a valuable conversation with the Polish counterpart, Mariusz Błaszczak about the situation created by the Russian aggression in Ukraine and international efforts to end this war. Both countries, Albania and Poland will increase cooperation in the field of defense thanks to the new agreement signed in Brussels after a long period of negotiations,” said Minister Peleshi.
