TIRANA, June 28 – Democratic Party (DP) Chairman Sali Berisha accused PM Edi Rama of going to Brussels and talking 5 times more about Serbia than about Albania and he does not have Kosovo on the agenda and does not lobby for it because the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic does not allow such a thing.
The former PM made that statement at the second meeting with Civic Association and the Front for the Salvation of Albania held in Tirana on Tuesday.
On the other hand Berisha said that this is a government which makes life harder every day more and more for the citizens of Albania through its decisions. “A government which at the patriotic level, Albanian, decides to say ‘No’ or ‘Yes’ to the invitation to Brussels, ignoring any Albanian institution, neither the presidency, nor the parliament, but informs us that I contacted Aleksandar Vucic. “This is a government that goes to Brussels and talks 5 times more about Serbia than about Albania, while he (Vucic) has stopped him from saying a good word about it, or doing its advocacy.”
Further Berisha said that Rama is suffocating business while adding that professionals of free professions will leave the country due to Rama’s misgovernment.
“It is a climate in which Rama does not take into account any interest of the citizens and professionals of free professions will leave Albania in such conditions. No one can afford any of the taxes imposed by him. The increase in prices brings inflation to 29 percent, and not what he (Rama) says, “said Berisha.
In addition Berisha said that the reaction of civil society and personalities of the country is irreplaceable. “The support of the Diaspora and emigration is of great importance for this movement. This move aims to restore the denied rights to immigration and the Diaspora the right to vote,” he said.
Earlier Berisha made a speech at a meeting of the DP chairmanship during which he said the country now has a real opposition that will protect the interests of citizens.
Speaking about the national protest that will be held on June 7 in Tirana, Berisha said that the protest is called at a time when the country already has the real opposition. “There are no more manipulations, or anything else. There is protection only of the interests of the citizens,” said Berisha.
“There is a very positive climate among the citizens for the protest. True civil society is on its feet to contribute to the organization of this protest. In fact, the protest is already led by the Front for the Salvation of Albania, “he said.
DP head was confident that parliamentary and non-parliamentary opposition political parties would join the protest and all negotiations would take place with them.
