TIRANA, August – Kosovo has declared ‘persona non grata’ Daria Asmalova, the Russian citizen accused of espionage, according to an announcement by the Minister of Internal Affairs in Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, through a post on social networks on Sunday.
Sveçla said that Asmalova has been banned from entering the territory of the Republic of Kosovo for 5 years.
Many countries have confirmed that she was engaged in espionage for the military intelligence of Russia.
According to Minister Sveçla, anyone with certain goals and directives who violates or tries to destabilize Kosovo will without question face the force of the country’s laws.
The Russian citizen was stopped at the border point in the north of Kosovo on Saturday and then arrested by the police. Her arrest was made on the same day after the border surveillance unit in Zubin Potok was attacked 10 times with firearms while they were sailing in a patrol boat in Ujman Lake, northern Kosovo. Whereas, a few days ago, tensions were caused in the North of Kosovo due to the decision to implement the reciprocity of license plates and identity cards for the Serbs of the North. The latter blocked the roads in protest using heavy tonnage vehicles.
Russian ‘spy journalist’ Daria Aslamova, who was detained by Kosovo authorities under suspicion of espionage, has been released and has now gone to Serbia.
Several Serb and Russian media outlets have reported that she is now in the Serbian city of Rashka. “I arrived at the border at 4 AM in the morning. The officers of the border police asked me to clarify why I did not have a deportation stamp,” euronews.al quoted the journalist, who is already in contact with the Russian embassy in Serbia.
Although the Serbian and Russian media have described her as a journalist, journalists in Kosovo have published several photos of Daria Aslamova where she appears next to the criminal sentenced to life imprisonment, Radovan Karadzic.
Also, several nude photos of her have been published on the internet, which Kosovar media said Daria Aslamova published herself. Based on reports with Karadzic and photos on the web, several underground sources have hinted that Daria Aslamova might have also offered sexual favors in exchange for information. /Argumentum.al
