TIRANA, August 18 – No agreement has been reached, but it has been agreed to continue the dialogue process in the first days of September, said the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell in a news conference after the meeting of the Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin Kurri and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic held in Brussels on Thursday.
“The meeting was about the obligations of the two leaders for a solution and to show that peace and stability prevail in the north of Kosovo. The meeting happened at a critical moment of the return of war to the continent after Russia invaded Ukraine, A dramatic and dangerous moment, and it is not a moment to increase tensions, but to find solutions to protracted problems. It was a crisis management meeting, not a normal meeting. The aim is to reduce tensions,” said Borrell, who met Kurti and Vucic separately before the meeting.
“The two leaders had the opportunity to talk in detail about the status tensions. What is happening there today may happen somewhere else tomorrow. I thank them both and they both understand that there is no alternative but dialogue,” said Borrell, who announced that the process of the dialogue will continue in the first days of September. “I don’t give up, today there was no agreement, but we don’t give up, we have to continue and find a solution,” he said.
