TIRANA, August 22 – The Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, has considered the incident at the arms factory in Gramsh as a great threat to the national security of Albania.
“The aggressors of the soldiers on duty were arrested and are being investigated. What is their connection with the (intelligent) services must be clarified. But the truth is that the use of neo-paralyzing spray against the soldiers deeply compromises their tourist ‘mission’, “said Berisha in a press conference on Monday.
Further he held PM Edi Rama responsible for the incident. “I am here today to declare that the biggest threat to national security has been personally Edi Rama with major acts in these years.”
Berisha brought to the attention that the Albanian media published the entire organizational chart of the intelligence service including names, surnames, branche and functions of the staff 5 years ago in an unprecedented way in the history of a free country. “They also published their salaries, thus exposing this service to all other unfriendly services. I declare here that Edi Rama did this, since no one else in the Republic of Albania, except the prime minister who signs the structure of SHISH every year, has the right to get to know it, or to ask for it,” said Berisha.
In the frame of his arguments that the head of the Government, Edi Rama is the real threat to the country’s security, the DP Chairman, Berisha mentioned names and facts.
“Since we are in the field of spy news, you heard a month ago that one of the most key figures of SHISH for years, Frederik Ymeri, was a Russian tool. In fact, I guarantee you that he is not isolated,” said Berisha.
The former head of SHISH, Fatos Klosi, was pursued by the Albanian intelligence services for suspicious connections with two other services and these have been publicly denounced, said Berisha, who added that Frederik Ymeri was appointed to the most important directorate of the Service, precisely by Fatos Klosi . According to Berisha, foreign agencies, directly or with influence, are widely connected with the top of the government pyramid of Albania.
“So national security is threatened in many aspects today. Fortunately, Albania is a member of NATO and no one can play with its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” said Berisha. /Argumentum.al
