TIRANA, October 17 – After the meeting of the leadership of the Socialist Party (SP) on Monday, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the draft budget for 2023 was discussed. He said that the government will continue to stick to the plan not to change the price of energy for families and small businesses.
“We have entered an era of great threat. Europe, we, as part of it, are forced to face the great threat of this era, which comes from an aggression at the doors of Europe, which has resulted, in addition to bombs and crimes, to the increase of the prices of energy and basic goods,” Rama said.
He accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of the high inflation in the world including Albania because of the invasion of Ukraine. However, according to the PM, it is up to the Albanian government to do everything to ease the burden of this war on the country’s economy and families. “For this reason, we did everything we could. We are finalizing next year’s budget, which is double the 2013 budget,” said Rama.
“We wish to have the necessary rain, as we are still very dependent on water resources and having more rain we have less need to import. But we will still continue to buy energy because we do not produce enough to meet all needs. We are confident that we will overcome this energy crisis during this winter without great pain,” said Rama. /Argumentum.al
