TIRANA, September 26 – The Chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, has reacted regarding the change to the price of electricity starting from October 1, 2022, an action that he called an abusive increase affecting tens of thousands of Albanian families.
Meta called on citizens to be careful and monitor the meters, as there may be interference from patronagists, the spies placed in all neighborhoods by Socialist Party who are informers of the government. Their activity was discovered ahead of the general elections.
“The abusive increase in the price of electricity will affect thousands of Albanian families. I call on the ordinary citizens, who are at risk, especially from the imposition of the 800kwh monthly limit of the use of energy to be careful and constantly monitor the meters as there might be interventions of the OSHEE patronagists to overbill you!” said Meta.
All households consuming more than 800 kwh will pay 42 lek per 1 kwh. This is the market price and according to specialists such a decision affects the so called middle class in Albania.
PM Edi Rama has hit them because that group of people considered to belong to the gray zone will not support him and such a decision is made to punish them before the local elections to be held in April next year. /Argumentum.al
