TIRANA, September 30 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, has commented on the statements of the American ambassador, Yuri Kim which she made on a TV talk show on Thursday evening.
In the weekly press conference on Friday, Berisha said that Kim cheated regarding meetings with persona non grata. Berisha said that the US Ambassador made similar statements like Prime Minister Edi Rama.
“There are some inaccuracies, not small ones. First, the ambassador’s pledge that American officials, including her personally, do not meet with designated persons, is a statement as if Edi Rama had made it. Why do I say that? Because it’s a lie and it’s not true. Senior officials of the State Department meet with puppets, even puppets or supporters of Vladimir Putin. This is an untrue thing,” said Berisha.
Sali Berisha and his family have been designated persona non grata by the US State Secretary, Anthony Blinken on May 19, 2021. “Today, I am announcing the public designation of Sali Berisha, a former President of Albania, former Prime Minister of Albania, and former Member of Parliament of Albania, due to his involvement in significant corruption,” said Blinken in his announcement.
But Berisha said DP remains determined for very good relations with the US. “Of course, this is not about relations with Soros and his mafia. There is a solemn vow. Non-grata will be the DP’s decision on Soros.”
In addition Berisha said the American ambassador, who speaks as a governor of Albania, has excellent relations with nationally and internationally discredited elements such as Edi Rama, Taulant Balla, etc.
“Besides, Kim has become famous for that catchphrase. Enver Hoxha (late communist dictator) told the Albanians that we will eat grass and we will not submit to the US imperialists, while the lady told the democrats that they will eat grass. I have told her that without a public excuse, she will not meet with Sali Berisha. Despite being a representative of the most powerful country in the world, no one is free from error and arrogance is not a virtue,” said Berisha. /Argumentum.al
