TIRANA, October 1 – It’s not something new but the peak of the bizarre behavior of Albanian PM Edi Rama was displayed within the last 24 hours- Friday and Saturday. And it’s very concerning because it has to do with the skyrocketing increase of price energy.
On Friday morning, a ‘humble’ Rama ‘worried’ so much for the welfare of Albanians declared the cancellation of the decision on the 800kwh threshold which was set to be applied on October 1.
Ordinary citizens felt relaxed because any kwh above 800 limit would cost 42 lek. Opposition politicians and certain analysts considered it a withdrawal of the PM due to the fear of huge nationwide protests.
But there were many who were skeptical: they said Rama was cheating and making fun of Albanians to rejoice over their poverty and misery.
Rama, according to the narrative, wanted to humiliate them once again which is something common in his bizarre behavior like the absolute ruler of Albania. (Some Socialist MPs have labelled him as Skanderbeg, the national hero of the country.)
So as it is claimed on social networks his wicked mind activated again ERE, the energy regulating entity, to say there is no change in the 800kwh threshold late on Friday… Although late at night Albanians were shocked.
But the mockery with Albanians went on on Saturday morning when Rama touched upon the case in an online talk with citizens.
According to him, his decision was not cancellation but postponement! And Rama referred to rainfalls and a saving energy awareness of the people leading him to make that decision.
But the threshold will be applied in November, Rama told the people in this Balkan country. And he rejoiced over humiliating citizens telling them his government was their ‘protection shield’.
The last 24 hours were another evidence that now Rama’s scheme of ‘you have not seen all yet’ proclaimed when he got the power 10 years ago has turned into ‘this is the game’ in 2022!
And opposition missed ‘September of protests’ as pledged while Democratic Party head Sali Berisha told the National Council on Saturday they were late regarding protests to overthrow PM Rama. Of course if he really meant it…
Reviewing the duel Rama vs opposition the looser is the people, who are in face of an anti- popular government whose corrupt rule is unchecked even by any international and an opposition which is lost in internal power game.
Whatever the scenarios of Rama and opposition in their struggle, it’s Albanians who will be faced with a tough winter with many unknowns! /Argumentum.al
