TIRANA, October 21 – Prime Minister Edi Rama declared in a meeting in Elbasan on Friday that Albania is well on its way to building other sources of solar and wind energy.
“It is certain that within this decade we will have full energy sovereignty, we will produce all the energy in the country and we will be a net exporter,” Rama said, adding that until then investments should be made. He said that the hydropower station of Skavica will be built.
Speaking of the establishment of the price scheme of 800 kwh limit Rama said that it was not applied in October, but did not reveal if it is going to be applied in November.
“We managed to protect households and small businesses from the increase in energy prices. We will try to keep it intact until the end of the crisis for families and small businesses… The more we save the energy that we spend unnecessarily, the more we are sure that there will be no restrictions and no we will pay more,” said Rama.
According to the 800 kWh scheme any kWh spent above that limit will cost at the market price which stands at Lek42. /Argumentum.al
