TIRANA, October 27 – After signing the agreement on local elections with the head of the Freedom Party (FP) Ilir Meta, Democratic Party (DP) head Sali Berisha said on Thursday that this cooperation will lead to a sure victory not only in Tirana, but throughout Albania.
The agreement signed by both parties has 6 main points, among which is the competition with joint candidates, as well as the Municipal Councils that will be led by representatives proposed by the Freedom Party. Berisha said at the joint press conference that there are always victories with him.
“With (Lulzim) Basha, there have only been losses, with Berisha, agreements bring only victories. This is the reality, that’s it,” said Berisha.
Meta expressed his conviction that the opposition will be victorious in Tirana and in the vast majority of municipalities in the country. “I consider it with full historical conviction. The most principled agreement that serves democracy and the restoration of political pluralism and accountability,” he said.
“Our major commitment as a party regarding the exercise of the constitutional right of referendums has received a great deal of support today. For this, I once again thank Doctor Berisha and the Democratic Party… The years of absolute power have been so long for the citizens of Albania to understand that they have nothing more to expect from Edi Rama,” said Meta. /Argumentum.al
