TIRANA, October 28 – The Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE) announced on Friday that the price of 42 lek per kilowatt will be applied above the 800 KW limit in November and December.
As it was previously emphasized by the energy entity, the price of electricity supply for consumers who consume above the consumption band of 800 kWh will remain subject to periodic review.
The new threshold will affect all households that consume more than 800 kilowatt hours of electricity per month. The latter will pay 42 lek for every kWh consumed above this limit.
In his clarification on ERE’s decision, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated in Bulqiza on Friday that ERE does not impose a threshold, but who is in charge. “Administration belongs to the state, the government has its own say and this is not decided by ERE. They only decide what the price is,” said Rama, who, however, confirmed that the 800kWh scheme will be applied because of the energy shortages. /Argumentum.al
