TIRANA, November 1 – Home Secretary Suella Braverman has claimed that Britain will tackle the “invasion” of the country by migrants arriving on British shores with her new policies.
Albania is not a war-torn country and it is very difficult to argue that asylum requests are legitimate, said Ms. Braverman quoted by local media on Tuesday.
Concerns about people moving to Britain from Albania erupted after a warning was issued by Dan O’Mahoney, who said 50 Albanians arrived in the UK on small boats two years ago, there were 800 last year and up to now this year there are 12,000 of whom about 10,000 are single adult males. “So the growth has been exponential,” he said.
According to O’Mahoney, there is a massive dangerous and organized criminality and many of the Albanian criminal gangs in Britain are involved. Whatever serious criminality you can think of, Albanian criminal gangs are dominating like in drug smuggling, human trafficking, prostitution and weapons smuggling.
The British government is working on proposals for the Albanian government to try to restrain the flow of fleeing people. It will also act quickly to deport Albanians who have arrived in Britain in the last 10 months. /Argumentum.al
