TIRANA, November 3 – US Ambassador Yuri Kim met outgoing head of prosecution authority for serious crimes, SPAK, Arben Kraja as well as prosecutors of this institution on Thursday.
In a tweet, Kim said the US would continue to support the full implementation of justice reform in this Balkan country. Kim said that despite the threats, SPAK is focused on delivering more results that show that no one is above the law regardless of their rank or wealth.
According to her, there should not be impunity anymore.
Kim said the old ways must end so that Albania can move forward to become a member of the European Union, so that regular citizens can breathe freely and lead a better life for themselves and their children.
The US will continue to support the full implementation of justice reform. Let’s move forward together, said the US Ambassador.
Kim’s visit to SPAK was made in the atmosphere of the appointment of the new head of this institution as Kraja’s 3-year mandate ends in December. So far there are three candidates who run for the chair. /Argumentum.al
