TIRANA, November 9 – Prime Minister Edi Rama honored the commander-in-chief of the Guardia di Finanza of Italy, army general Giuseppe Zafarana
with the Great Star of the Prime Minister’s Medal for Public Appreciahara on Wednesday.
In the ceremony held at the government headquarters Rama appreciated that General Zafarana is above all a friend and one of the precious representatives of a countryters like Italy, which is probably the closest spiritually and without a doubt the most benevolent of Albania.
“The general is one of the many envoys of the Italian state who, in honor of their uniform, has contributed but also witnessed a long history of 3 decades of joint efforts and increasingly strong friendship. Above all, he is a worthy representative of the Guardia di Finanza, a highly respected and valued force for a thousand and one reasons, but as far as we are concerned, for the invaluable help he has given us at this stage,” said Rama. The Prime Minister appreciated the precious contribution of General Zafarana in a front where many people from both sides of the border have been engaged. “At the same time, as Commander-in-Chief of the Guardia di Finanza, he has also led an effort to help patrol the Albanian coast in our effort against the cultivation of cannabis through aerial surveillance and to make it possible for our results to always be the most meaningful and we should never be alone,” he said.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to all the Italian officers who have served in Albania and have helped in an invaluable way. /Argumentum.al
