TIRANA, November 22 – Prime Minister Edi Rama went to flooded areas for the first time to inspect the situation created on Tuesday, but avoided problematic areas such as Shkodra and Lezha, northern Albania, choosing to visit the village of Sukthi in Durrës.
While the situation due to the floods continues to be problematic in Lezha and Shkodra, Prime Minister Rama chose to make his first field trip to inspect the damage from the rain in Durrës.
But even in this city, Rama avoided visiting the ‘former Keneta’ area, where there are still problems from floods, choosing to inspect the Sukthi village, accompanied by the mayor of Durres, Emirjana Sako.
In the video posted on social networks, the Prime Minister stated that the reason for his field inspections was to reflect the reality, criticizing the media that the situation is different from what is broadcast.
Earlier, through a post on Twitter, Rama again attacked the media for covering the floods in Shkodra. By publishing the data on the flooded areas and houses in 2010, Rama accused the media of trying to incite hatred in public opinion.
But as a matter of fact the floods are immense in the district of Shkodra where it was also announced the first fatality as father and son lost their lives due to the inundations. Rama has said not a single word on this tragedy.
In the meantime, rainfalls continue in Albania and the areas hit the hardest are located in the northern part of the country. /rgAumentum.al
