TIRANA, November 23 – The cooperation between North Macedonia and France, two allied countries in NATO, is gaining a new intensity, especially after the harmonization of the new Cooperation Agreement which has recently been signed in Paris by Minister Slavjanka Petrovska and her French counterpart, Minister Sebastian Lekornu.
The first strategic defense dialogue between North Macedonia and France was held at the Defense Ministry in Skopje on Wednesday.
The French delegation headed by Vice Admiral Christophe Lucas, Deputy Director General for International Relations and Strategy at the Ministry of Defense of France, had a meeting with the Minister of Defense Petrovska during which it was expressed satisfaction for the establishment of a strategic defense dialogue between the two countries, as the best evidence of mutual commitmet to efffective implementation of cooperation to be implemented in practice.
“This is the beginning of a new period of defense cooperation between North Macedonia and France. France is our important ally that supported North Macedonia’s membership in NATO and offers its support for the European integration of the country,” Minister Petrovska said.
Vice Admiral Lukas expressed his satisfaction for the successful start of the strategic dialogue and emphasized the recognition of North Macedonia as a NATO ally that makes an active contribution to peace and security. /Argumentum.al
