TIRANA, November 25 – The police of the Albanian capital, Tirana have rejected the request of the head of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, to hold a protest in Tirana on December 6, the same day when the EU-Western Balkans summit will take place.
The letter of the police addressed to the Democratic Party on Friday said that measures have been taken to maintain security in the frame of the summit and any organization of this kind poses a risk to security in the place notified by DP for holding the gathering.
As it is reported by police, “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard to “Bajram Curri” boulevard, including “Mother Teresa” square, are part of the security perimeter. The police have announced that they are ready to guarantee security to any DP gathering outside the designated perimeter. /Argumentum.al
