TIRANA, November 30 – After the meeting with the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha at the headquarters of this party on Wednesday, the head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta said in a short statement to journalists that they will protest for Albania on December 6.
“We are for European Albania, not for a police regime,” said Meta whose party is in coalition with the opposition DP.
“We will be facing those responsible for the state capture and undermining the European integration process for years on December 6. Europe’s security is only threatened by the mafia that uses the state to turn Albania into a base for all kinds of traffic,” said Meta.
He did not make any comments about the warning of the police not to hold the protest in downtown Tirana because of the EU-WB Summit. But the meeting and the statements show that apparently Berisha and Meta have no intention of withdrawing from the police’s warnings. / Argumentum.al
