TIRANA, December 9 – Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi signed the EU-Albania Anti-Terrorism Plan with EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johanson in Brussels on Friday.
“This document guarantees a comprehensive cooperation with the European Union, and is another significant evidence of the trust built and the work that Albania has done in the prevention and fight against terrorism and violent extremism. We work closely with the European Union for the common security of the Union and for preserving the values and fundamental principles of the EU,” said Çuçi.
According to him, the agreement creates a more solid and aligned legal framework with the EU, but also enables Albania to improve its capacities to cope with the complexity of security issues related to terrorism.
“It is in full compliance with our strategic documents in the field of the fight against terrorism and violent extremism,” said the Minister. /Argumentum.al
