TIRANA, December 13 – The Chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, has raised the concern of corrupt concessions, but also of the PPP, which, according to him, are suffocating the Albanian economy.
In a statement to the media on Tuesday, Meta said that corrupt concessions and PPPs are suffocating the economy, significantly burdening the state budget, catastrophically increasing the public debt and practically bankrupting Albania.
“The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has recently raised the red alert for the high level of risk that the concessionary contracts present in the Albanian economy and mainly in fiscal stability as the opposition had previously warned,” said Meta.
He added that like never before the recent report of the IMF has paid high attention to the construction and the real estate market, warning of the risks that there may be a downward turn in the price trend and the implications for the financial and banking sector.
“I fully support the IMF’s concern on the importance of increased vigilance towards the financial stability of policymakers, given the rapid growth of credit and real estate activities,” said Meta. /Argumentum.al
