TIRANA, December 18 – Prime Minister Edi Rama assured on Sunday that Albania will carry out fiscal amnesty at all costs, while expressing the belief that the international community will not hinder this process.
At the annual meeting of the Diaspora Coordinating Council, the Prime Minister said that the fiscal and criminal amnesty is supported by the majority of Albanians.
“I am very confident that the international community, especially the EU with which we are in inalienable partnership, will understand. We do not need it to support it (the amnesty), but it will not prevent it and will accept the principle of right by using the right to monitor this process so that it is done properly. As long as Italy does it once in 3 years and all at a certain moment, we do not have to be deprived because we are small and we are prejudiced beyond any kind of logic,” said Rama.
The Prime Minister said the fiscal amnesty is very important for all immigrants because this is a massive phenomenon produced by the extraordinary sacrifices and amount of work done in developed countries, where if we collect all the hours together that Albanians have granted for the informal economy in developed countries, it would result in an unimaginable volume of slavery. /Argumentum.al
