TIRANA, January 20 – The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party (SP), Taulant Balla, responded on Friday to the democrat leader, Sali Berisha, about January 21 event.
In a statement to the media, Balla called on the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Prosecutor’s Office of Tirana to transfer the file of the murder of Aleks Nika on January 21 to SPAK.
“Tomorrow we commemorate the 12th anniversary of the boulevard massacre and the killing of the four martyrs of this country in the protest of January 21, 2011. The fact is that the file of one of the four martyrs, Aleks Nika, is not closed. His family members and I have also addressed several times to the General Prosecutor’s Office, Tirana Prosecutor’s Office, SPAK to request that new elements that have appeared in this file be investigated,” said Balla.
He appealed that the file in charge of the persons involved in the murder of Aleks Nika should no longer be investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office of Tirana, but should be handed over to SPAK.
“The reason is very simple. The people involved in this state crime that took the lives of 4 citizens and injured dozens, are people who come under the jurisdiction of the Special Prosecutor’s Office. January 21 is corruption, so Albanian citizens came out on the boulevard to oppose the corruption of that time, and in this perspective, I think that the Prosecutor’s Office should not sit idly by,” said Balla. /Argumentum.al
