TIRANA, February 3 – After the publication of other facts by the New York Times, the Chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, reacted on Friday to the Rama-McGonigal case. Meta said that Prime Minister Edi Rama considers and treats Albania as his private property.
He said that the New York Times has written a special article dedicated to this scandal and especially the involvement of Albania through the current prime minister, also illustrating this article with a photo of Rama and the other of the former agent.
Meta said the serious scandal has taken over all the American and world media, where Albania is naturally involved through the prime minister and his associates in this scandal.
According to him, the current prime minister, after having done everything to block his accountability in the Assembly according to the constitutional and parliamentary obligations, continued on Thursday evening to speak adding his lies and strong contradictions throughout the whole dynamics of unraveling this scandal.
“Meanwhile, today, one of the largest newspapers in the world, the NYT, has written a special article dedicated to this scandal and especially the involvement of Albania through the current prime minister, also illustrating this article with a photo from him and the other from the former agent,” said Meta. He said that the title of the article is very clear: How the FBI agent sold his services overseas, Washington prosecutors say.
“Our comment is that Rama considers and treats Albania simply as his private property,” said the FP head, who stressed that this situation makes the establishment of the parliamentary commission more urgent than ever. /Argumentum.al
