TIRANA, February 4 – The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party (SP), Taulant Balla, declared on Saturday that the protest called by Sali Berisha, Democratic Party chairman, on February 11 is nothing but a protest against the Albanian justice system, which has started the investigations into “January 21 ” and “Gërdec”.
In a statement to the media in Fier, Balla said that “we think they will gather some people to scare the Albanian justice because the American justice is not scared by these protests”.
Asked about the McGonigal case, Balla said it is being used by the opposition to divert attention from the events involved, such as the January 21 and Gërdec file.
“They are waiting for the American justice to investigate this case. They are calling a protest against SPAK, that the protest is not for McGonigal, they want a protest against SPAK. This issue does not stir politics, but the troubled souls of the opposition factions. It is not an issue for Albania,” said Balla.
Further he noted that there is no accusation involving even a single Albanian authority, including PM Edi Rama, who has waited, as an official of another country is waiting.
“After a few years, this gentleman (Sali Berisha) has another problem. Yes, they connect it with their own plight of Russian money and the attempt to avoid this fact, which is a universally proven fact. They should make as much noise as possible to dilute their own issues but neither Sali nor his allies can fool the citizens,” said Balla. Argumentum.al
