TIRANA, February 24 – Albania has reconfirmed its solidarity with Ukraine on Friday when it turns one year since Russia started the invasion of Ukraine.
In a special ceremony held in Tirana, where the ambassador of Ukraine to Tirana, Volodymyr Shkurov was present, as well as the highest representatives of foreign missions in Tirana, a minute of silence was held in memory of the lives lost during this war.
The ambassador of Ukraine in Tirana, Volodymyr Shkurov, stated that the protection of Ukrainians will continue until the Ukrainian territory and its integrity are restored within internationally recognized borders.
The ambassador said that Ukraine is covered in blood now, but it continues to fight for honor and freedom, unconditionally for a victory that it believes in.
“February 24 of last year, 4:40 a.m. is a morning we will never forget. This was a year that showed who we are, identified our friends and gave birth to our heroes. A year of inevitable pain, sorrow and loss that will always remain in the hearts of Ukrainians,” said the ambassador.
He expressed special gratitude for Albania’s support in the UN Security Council, for the financial and military assistance that the Albanian government has given to Ukraine. The ambassador also thanked the Albanian people for the powerful humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine, said Ambassador Shukurov. /Argumentum.al
